What Is NAVIGATE

NAVIGATE is a project that seeks widen the path to higher education for undocumented immigrant high school students in Minnesota.There is a growing need for accurate and Minnesota-focused information and encouragement for these students.
Our goal is to make the college application and financial aid process more navigable for undocumented students and better inform those who assist them.
NAVIGATE will produce
  • A guide for undocumented high school students who wish to pursue higher education. This guide is important because it is written for a Minnesota audience.

    • Coming soon! Currently under review

  • A list of scholarships that Minnesota undocumented students are eligible to receive. Too often, these students are given lists of scholarships that are outdated or mainly contain scholarships for students in other states.

  • A brochure that is a briefer overview of the guide and can be easily handed out.

  • A photo documentary showing the career and life aspirations of undocumented college students, intending to show why college is so important to them.

  • A video documentary that interviews undocumented college students about how their lives and how they got to college.

  • An audio documentary discussing the issue of undocumented immigrants and education.

We hope that after reading, watching, and listening to all of this, undocumented students will take away the message that college is a possibility. We also hope that this project will make you more confident as you begin or continue the college process.
